Timber & TideTimber & Tide
Free pickup · San Diego & 75 miles out

Retired IT equipment,
handled properly.

Timber & Tide picks up your old computers, servers and networking gear, arranges documented destruction of the data on them, recovers what still has value, and makes sure the rest is recycled. Pickup, transport and responsible recycling are free. You get a written record of everything that left.

Or email info@timberandtide.live. We ask for 3 business days' notice.

What you get on every pickup

  • Free pickup and transport

No charge for hauling or responsible recycling.

  • Itemized chain of custody

Every device logged and signed for before it leaves.

  • Reuse before recycling

Working gear is tested and resold, not shredded.

  • Scheduled around your building

Booked at least 3 business days ahead.

Why it matters

Throwing out a laptop is a data breach waiting to happen.

Most companies retire equipment the same way: it goes in a closet, then a dumpster, and nobody documents any of it. That closet is full of drives holding customer records, payroll files and credentials, and once it leaves the building undocumented, you can't prove it was destroyed.

We close that gap. Every device is logged on intake, kept under chain of custody until it is sanitized, and accounted for in writing. Working gear gets remarketed instead of shredded, so the equipment you already paid for earns its last dollar back before it goes.

How it works

Four steps, and we do three of them.

  1. 01

    Pick your date

Tell us what you have and choose a pickup date at least 3 business days out. A rough count is enough: twelve laptops, a server rack, a storage room nobody has opened since 2019.

  2. 02

    We confirm it

We come back to confirm the date and the access details, in writing, before anything is booked.

  3. 03

    We pick it up

Pickup at the time we agreed. A chain-of-custody manifest is signed before the truck leaves, and the pickup itself costs you nothing.

  4. 04

    You get your paperwork

A written record of every device we collected and what happened to it.

Who we serve

If it has a power cord and a serial number, we can move it.

Whether it's a six-person dental office clearing a back room or a district office cycling four hundred Chromebooks, the process is the same. Only the truck size changes.

Straight answers

Questions worth asking before the first pickup.

What does pickup cost?

Nothing. Pickup, transport and responsible recycling are free. We cover our costs by remarketing the equipment that still works, which is why we would rather test a laptop than shred it.

Why do you need 3 business days' notice?

Routing a truck, confirming dock access and lining up the downstream processing all happen before we arrive. Booking at least 3 business days out is what keeps a pickup from turning into a wasted trip for either of us. If you are against a hard deadline, say so in the form and we'll tell you honestly whether we can make it.

Is there a minimum?

We're set up for business and institutional volume rather than single items. Tell us roughly what you have and we'll tell you straight away whether it's a fit or whether a local drop-off would serve you better.

How do I know my data is actually gone?

Every storage device is logged by serial number on intake and stays under chain of custody until it reaches our processing partner for sanitization or physical destruction. You get a written record listing each device and the method applied to it.

Can I get paid for my equipment?

The pickup itself is already free, which is where most of that value goes. If a load carries unusual resale value, tell us what you have and we'll talk about it directly rather than guessing in a form.

Do you take TVs and home electronics?

We focus on business and institutional equipment. For household items, your county's e-waste event or a municipal drop-off site is the right call.

Clear the room. We'll take it from there.

Send a rough count and pick a date. Pickup, transport and responsible recycling are free.
